ASD BioSystems will fill a major market need in the biological threat agent detection segment with its integrated sample collection and processing kit and its LIA technologies integrated with IT technology for a “total solution” system. The system will be highly sensitive, based on established reagent technology, backward compatible with high throughput laboratory formats and will be among the lowest cost entries in the marketplace on a per test basis.
The ASD BioSystems' technology platform is highly versatile and flexible. The technology has many applications in the collection, tracking and detection of biothreat agents, as well as in well established markets relating to biotechnology and manufacturing-related environmental quality controls, tracking agricultural conditions and veterinary disease spread, conducting environmental hazard assessments, forensic evidence collection, medicine, public health, and food safety.
Currently, ASD BioSystems is also working to acquire and develop innovative technologies leading towards the commercialization of "near real time" detection systems.
